Church in Tripkova
In 1861, the chapel of the Holy Week was built in the Zlatibor village of Tripkova. The original church was not large and was built of hewn stone and covered with shingles, like most churches in the Zlatibor area from the 19th century.
The chapel is intended for the needs of the locals for the cemetery in the middle of which it was placed. It is a one-nave building with a semicircular apse on the east, doors on the west and north sides, surmounted by a dome. The floor was made of wood and the altar was separated by a wooden partition. In the middle of the 20th century, the dilapidated chapel collapsed, so that in 2003 the parishioners rebuilt their chapel from the ground up.
When the church of the Assembly of the Archangel Gabriel in Stapari (a village not far from Tripkova) was destroyed, the doors and throne icons of the Virgin Mary and Jesus Christ were transferred to the chapel in Tripkova, to be preserved. These extremely valuable doors and the throne icon were painted by the zographer Aleksije Lazarević between 1810 and 1815. The imperial doors were painted on a linden board base, without wood-carved plastic, which was replaced by painted ornamentation in the form of stylized plant motifs. It is assumed that the enthroned icon of the Virgin died during the demolition of the dilapidated chapel, while the icon of Jesus Christ was transferred to the church of St. Elijah in Mackat, where it is still kept today.
During the renovation of the chapel in 2003, it was decorated with new wall paintings and icons, among which Lazarevic's imperial doors are preserved as a special value.
