Gallery "Trnava" by Vladimir Mitrović
Gallery "Trnava" is located in the Zlatibor village of the same name, Trnava, and is 23 kilometers from the Zlatibor tourist center.
The gallery is the art studio of Vladimir Mitrović, a self-taught painter and sculptor whose artworks, even after his death, convey the beauty of the homeland painted with a painter's brush and carved with a sculptor's eye. He is the author of a large number of paintings, of which those painted on stone slabs stand out, which is a very rare painting technique. During his artistic creation, he made several busts (busts of national hero Sava Jovanović, Dimitrij Tucović, Hadži Milentij for the Rača monastery, patriarch Gavrilo Rašković for the Dubnica monastery). However, the artistic work of Vlado Mitrović is most recognizable for the stone sculptures of birds that he made in different sizes.
Since 1993, Vlade Mitrović organized a painting colony in his studio in Trnava, and the tradition of maintaining this colony continued even after his death. The colony takes place every year, when the village of Trnava becomes a gathering place for several days for painters and sculptors from different parts of Serbia, as well as all of Europe.
